Regional Policy Advocate- Saginaw Valley Region

The Michigan Consumers for Healthcare (MCH) coalition serves to address the opportunities that federal healthcare reform, known as the Affordable Care Act (ACA), presents for Michigan citizens.  MCH currently has a Regional Policy Advocate position available serving the Saginaw Valley Region of the state, encompassing Flint, Saginaw, Bay City and Midland.

The Policy Advocate will support and advance MCH policy objectives by working with partners to coordinate local grassroots organizing events designed to educate the public, media and policymakers regarding essential aspects of the Affordable Care Act (ACA); working to educate, motivate and engage healthcare consumers within targeted communities so that their voices are heard by policymakers;  supporting MCH legislative research, analysis and advocacy efforts both at the local and state level; and working to grow the coalition and build a base of consumer activists to lead or participate in MCH healthcare campaigns.

Position requires a passion for advancing healthcare to the uninsured or underinsured, a background in public policy or advocacy, a valid driving license, and familiarity with the Affordable Care Act (ACA).  $35,000/year plus benefits.
