COMMUNITY EDUCATION PARTNERSHIP

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) ANNOUNCEMENT

The Michigan Consumers for Healthcare (MCH) is seeking Community Education Partnership (CEP) grant applicants from members of the MCH coalition to provide Affordable Care Act (ACA) related outreach in targeted communities.

The primary purpose of the CEP grant funds is to educate and engage strategically key constituents related to health care reform within their own communities.

Key constituencies include service clubs, fraternal associations, communities of faith, nonprofits, volunteer organizations, men, women, seniors, young adults, disability communities, and the under and uninsured.

Priority consideration will be given to key constituencies residing in Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, Monroe, Saginaw, Genesee, Kent, Jackson, Bay, and Calhoun counties.  Proposals covering non-preferred counties will be considered but will not receive a preferential rating.

Grants will range from $1,000 to $10,000 and will be awarded on a competitive basis.  All applicants must:

·       Be members of the MCH coalition.

·       Must return a completed cover letter and application with supporting documentation by  March 16, 2012.

·       All project activities must completed by July 31, 2012.

·       Must provide a final grant narrative and financial report by August 7, 2012.

·       Funds cannot be used for: only salary, to supplant any other funds, purchase equipment, overhead expenses, furniture, entertainment, and alcoholic beverages.

CEP applications will be reviewed by a Grant Review Committee who will make funding recommendations to members of the MCH Leadership Team.  All applicants will be notified of their status by March 30, 2012.
